Most web companies will try to sell you the whole-she-bang, telling you in subtle ways that to do anything less is like throwing away your money. Now, if you have gobs of money then this may be the way to go for you - personally though - we wouldn't recommend it. We've seen too many clients that demanded the whole show with all the bells and whistles, who have spent literally millions of dollars only to get nothing in return.

We like to spend your money a little more wisely.

Greater Union Website Design 2002

Again, our philosophy is different in several key ways.First of all - we spent a lot of time in the late 90's (otherwise known as the DotCom era) convincing clients to take small steps. They went like this:

  1. Look at all your options.
  2. Decide which one will bring the best return for the smallest investment.
  3. Implement it.
  4. Measure its success or failure.
  5. Go to step one.

ABHV 2005 Design

Through this approach Greater Union became one the largest entertainment sites in Australia thanks to a small web company whose whole production team was run by one of our principles. Similarly, we saw large companies that were unwilling to take this approach rush in to the DotCom insanity and literally burn millions of dollars. In most cases this came about because Marketing/Web/E-Commerce/Business Managers constantly changed their minds or were replaced by people with a "new vision" - these days we try to avoid that situation completely.
